Winging Wetting Down

One of the hallowed traditions in Naval Aviation is celebrating the official designation of a Naval Aviator at the completion of the Naval Air Training command syllabus. In the ceremony, a set of gold wings is pinned on the newly minted Naval, Marine Corps or Coast Guard Aviator, which of course, means a celebration a.k.a. a “wetting down,” is in order.

What follows is the story of the wetting down after I pinned my original set of wings on my son’s chest in 2002!  It appeared first on the ANA Grandpaw Pettibone site. Enjoy…  http://gpsana.org/?p=2567
