Speech – Corsair vs. Mustang – Which is the Better Fighter and Book Signing

In late 1943, with the P-51B/C Mustangs coming off the production lines, the United States Army Air Force (U.S.A.A.F.) believed it had the better airplane. Both the the Navy and the U.S.A.A.F.  conducted separate flight tests pitting new off the production line P-51B/Cs against F4U-1 and F4U-4 Corsairs. The comparison tests were flown by experienced combat veterans over a period of several weeks. The results may surprise you.
